The LIFE programme is the EU’s funding tool through which the European Commission supports projects contributing to improving nature conservation and reducing the impacts of human activity in the Community. This programme considerably enables the integration of environmental aspects in the rest of policies and, more generally, contributes to sustainable development.
A large number of proposals are submitted every year from all the Member States and they are analysed in detail in Brussels. Only a few proposals, the best ones, are selected to be co-financed through this Programme.
Therefore, the European Commission participates in the LIFE ALBUFERA project by co-financing 50% of the cost of its actions.
