Fundación Global Nature participates in the LIFE ALBUFERA project as the organisation in charge of managing the artificial wetlands of Tancat de Milia and L’Illa, delegated by ACUAMED
Fundación Global Nature is a non-profit organisation that operates all over Spain, but mainly in the regions of Canary Islands, Valencia Region, Extremadura, Murcia, Castilla León, Castilla La Mancha, Andalucía and Madrid. The organisation also develops cooperation projects in Sri-Lanka, Paraguay, Dominican Republic and Morocco. Its activities include various management projects in the Natura 2000 Network, recuperation of traditional and new systems for sustainable agriculture, the boost of extensive breeding and transhumance, protection of autochthonous species and the conservation of ecosystems. Other projects are focused on the conservation and recuperation of wetlands, where FGN has extensive experience. The organisation has recuperated lagoons and wetlands such as Nava, Boada and Pedraza in Tierra de Campos or in the lagoon complex of Villa Cañas, all of them within the Natura 2000 Network. As for wetland management, FGN is responsible for managing several lagoons and wetlands through land custody agreements.
Fundación Global Nature belongs to the International Network Living Lakes through which it articulates numerous projects and disseminates relevant information about them.
